1. IMPACT OF ENTREPRENEURIAL SKILLS ACQUISITION ON SELF-RELIANCE AND SELF-EMPLOYMENT OF YOUTH CORP MEMBERS THROUGH CAPACITY BUILDING AND EMPLOYMENT FOR SUSTAINABILITY IN OYO STATE, NIGERIA.

Abstract: Entrepreneurial Skills Acquisition program has enhanced the competency and capacity of targeted participants and has helped to be self-reliant and self-employable. Nigerian’s Higher Educational Institutional (HEIs) are mandated to offer Entrepreneurship Development Courses (EED). This is complimented with three weeks Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development at the Orientation Camp during National Youth Service Corps service years. Expectedly, these Entrepreneurial Skills Acquisition is being used to solve the problem of poverty, unemployment and economic retardation. These are reasons why this study focus at the impact the programme had on Self-Reliance and Self-Employment of Youth Corps Members through programme for Sustainable Development in Oyo State of Nigeria. One hundred (100) Youth Corp Members were sampled from each of the 33 Local Government Areas of the study totaling 3,300 as sample size. The Google form questionnaire were used as main instrument for the collection of data. The arithmetic mean was used to interpret and analyses data from the two research questions that were raised while ANOVA were used to test the two null hypothesis that was used for construction at 0.05 level of significance. The results shown that there is significant positive relationship between enterprenurial skills acquisition and self-reliance and self-employment through capacity building employment generated. Conclusively, this paper highlighted the meaning, reflection and importance of the capacity building and training of Entrepreneurial Skills Acquisition on Self-Reliance and Self-Employment, and stated the obvious challenges. According to this study, Entrepreneurial Skills Acquisition will benefit all stakeholders such as youth corp members, Local, State and Federal Governments, and interested groups if it is strengthened.

2. ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE FOR ENHANCING QUALITY VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT AMID UNCERTAINTY IN NIGERIA

Abstract: This paper examines artificial intelligence as a strategic tool for enhancing the quality of vocational education to promote sustainable development amid prevailing uncertainties in Nigeria. Key concepts such as artificial intelligence, vocational education, and sustainable development are critically explored. The paper also highlights the current uncertainties facing Nigeria and identifies the essential components of quality vocational education. Furthermore, it discusses the benefits of quality vocational education as well as the challenges confronting vocational education in the Nigerian context. In addition, the paper analyzes the applications of artificial intelligence in vocational education, including its potential advantages and associated challenges. The study recommends, among other measures, that the Federal Government of Nigeria, in collaboration with the private sector, should make substantial investments in AI technologies and training programs to support vocational institutions. Adequate funding is considered crucial for upgrading infrastructure, modernizing curricula, and building instructors’ capacity in order to achieve national educational goals. It also recommends continuous professional development for vocational educators to strengthen their AI-related competencies and keep pace with emerging technological innovations. Furthermore, policymakers are urged to ensure equitable access to AI technologies across regions and population groups and to develop policies that prioritize sustained investment in artificial intelligence for education.

3. ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN PARENTING: OPPORTUNITIES AND ETHICAL DILEMMAS IN CHILD DEVELOPMENT

Abstract: This study examines the growing integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into parenting and its implications for child development, family dynamics, and ethical responsibility. AI technologies—ranging from adaptive learning platforms and smart home devices to health monitoring systems and parenting applications—are transforming traditional child-rearing practices into a hybrid model of human–machine interaction. The paper highlights key opportunities, including personalized learning, early detection of developmental challenges, enhanced safety monitoring, and real-time parental support. These innovations can improve cognitive outcomes, increase accessibility to educational and health resources, and assist parents in making informed decisions. However, the study also critically explores significant ethical dilemmas associated with AI-driven parenting. Issues such as data privacy, algorithmic bias, inequality, over-reliance on technology, and reduced parent–child interaction pose risks to children’s autonomy, social development, and emotional well-being. Continuous data collection and surveillance further complicate concerns about consent and children’s rights in digital environments. The paper emphasizes the need for balanced and responsible AI integration, where technology complements rather than replaces human engagement. It underscores the importance of robust regulatory frameworks, transparency in AI systems, inclusive design, and active parental oversight. Ultimately, the study concludes that while AI holds transformative potential for enhancing parenting and child development, its benefits can only be fully realized through ethical deployment, safeguarding children’s rights, and maintaining the central role of human relationships in nurturing development.

Abstract: This paper appraised and discussed the challenges of entrepreneurship in Technical Vocational Education Training (TVET) in the area of Building Technology Education. It is necessary that Building Technology Education and all areas of TVET be increasingly entrepreneurial to encourage robust industrial and economic development in Nigeria. Research has shown that the high rate of unemployment is due to the fact that we are not producing sizable number of entrepreneurs who can now employ others. We are poor in the midst of plenty. This paper therefore attempted to set the way forward towards finding a lasting solution to this menace. It is the opinion that all hands should be on the deck towards making Building Technology Education more entrepreneurial. It suggested that, the masses should acknowledge and appreciate entrepreneurship, the Building Technology Education (BTE) students should individually decide to use entrepreneurship to save themselves through entrepreneurship, BTE students should have access to capital after graduation, Entrepreneurship week of emphasis should be introduced, Bribery and corruption should be routed out of our public and private sectors.

5. BRIDGING THE SKILLS GAP THROUGH AI: INNOVATING VOCATIONAL HOME ECONOMICS FOR NIGERIA’S KNOWLEDGE ECONOMY

Abstract: Nigeria is currently confronted with a widening skills gap that undermines the employability of its graduates and the productivity of its economy. Vocational education, particularly Home Economics, was designed to equip learners with practical skills for self-reliance, entrepreneurship, and sustainable living. However, the discipline has become outdated due to obsolete curricula, inadequate teacher capacity, limited infrastructure, and declining student engagement. These challenges have reduced its relevance in addressing unemployment and poverty in Nigeria. This paper examines how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be harnessed to reimagine Home Economics as a future-ready discipline aligned with Nigeria’s transition into a knowledge economy. Using Technological Determinism, Experiential Learning, and Constructivist Learning theories as conceptual lenses, the study explores how AI applications—such as virtual simulations, adaptive learning platforms, and intelligent tutoring systems— can modernize the curriculum, personalize instruction, and foster entrepreneurship. It also highlights AI’s potential to promote inclusivity through assistive technologies and strengthen digital literacy among learners. The analysis identifies systemic barriers to AI adoption, including infrastructural deficits, funding limitations, and cultural perceptions of vocational education. In response, a multi- pronged strategic framework is proposed, emphasizing curriculum redesign, teacher professionalization, infrastructure development, industry partnerships, and phased implementation. The expected impacts include improved student outcomes, enhanced teacher effectiveness, job creation, gender inclusivity, and alignment with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4, 5, and 8. The study concludes that integrating AI into vocational Home Economics is not merely an educational innovation but a strategic necessity for Nigeria’s sustainable development. By equipping students with entrepreneurial, digital, and practical skills, AI-enhanced Home Economics can bridge the skills gap, reduce unemployment, and position Nigeria as a competitive player in the global knowledge economy.

6. SOCIO-ECONOMIC FACTORS INFLUENCING THE ADOPTION OF AI-INTEGRATED WASTE MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS AMONG COMMERCIAL BROILER FARMERS IN DELTA STATE, NIGERIA

Abstract: Nigeria's expanding commercial broiler production has led to a sharp increase in poultry waste products, which are generating problems for the environment and public health. Artificial intelligence (AI)-based waste management systems offer innovative approaches to efficient resource use, environmental monitoring, and trash management. However, poultry producers are still not using this technology. This study looked at the socioeconomic variables affecting commercial broiler farmers in Nigeria's Delta State's adoption of AI-integrated waste management systems. 240 commercial broiler producers provided primary data using structured questionnaires as part of a descriptive survey research approach. Data were examined using descriptive statistics like means, frequencies, percentages, and ranking indices. The findings showed that adoption was significantly influenced by perceived cost-benefit, farm size, education level, credit availability, and extension contact. In a bid to increase the adoption of AI-driven waste management systems, the study indicates that socioeconomic factors significantly influence farmers' technology adoption behavior and suggests focused capacity building, increased access to financing, and enhanced extension services.

Traditional practices have psroven inadequate in addressing growing demands for transparency and responsible production. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is emerging as a transformative force, offering advanced tools to optimize production, manage supply chains, and align textile operations with global sustainability goals. This paper provides a detailed analysis of AI’s role in sustainable textile supply chain management, examining how machine learning, predictive analytics, and automation can enhance efficiency, transparency, flexibility, and responsiveness. Using global case examples and theoretical insights, the study demonstrates AI’s capacity to minimize waste, reduce carbon footprints, enable ethical sourcing, and strengthen collaboration across supply chains. The findings emphasize that the integration of AI into supply chains is not merely an evolution of technology but a paradigm shift that redefines how industries approach sustainability. The research concludes that the future of textile supply chains depends on harnessing AI-driven innovations to foster resilience, competitiveness, and environmental responsibility.

Abstract: Art in Nigeria is a vibrant mirror of culture, history, and resilience, yet many creators struggle to translate talent into sustainable livelihoods. This paper examines how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be harnessed to strengthen art marketing and foster economic empowerment across Nigeria’s creative sectors. The aim is to assess practical AI applications such as predictive analytics, image recognition, automated customer engagement, and provenance tracking and to explore how these tools can expand market access, improve pricing accuracy, and increase artists’ incomes. The study is significant because it connects technological innovation with cultural development, offering pathways for inclusive growth, job creation, and increased export earnings from arts and cultural goods. Using a qualitative, human-centered approach informed by current literature and practitioner experiences, the paper finds that AI offers substantial opportunities but also faces barriers including infrastructure gaps, limited digital skills, and policy shortfalls. The conclusion argues that thoughtful, locally adapted AI adoption can catalyze sustainable art markets in Nigeria. Recommendations include investing in digital infrastructure, delivering accessible AI training for artists, developing supportive policy frameworks, and fostering partnerships between technologists and cultural actors. Together, these measures can uplift artists economically, preserve cultural identity, and showcase Nigerian creativity on international markets with public support.

9. HARNESSING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE FOR AGRICULTURAL EXTENSION AND ECONOMIC SUSTAINABILITY IN DELTA STATE, NIGERIA EMPOWERMENT IN NIGERIA

Abstract: This study investigated the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in enhancing agricultural extension services and economic sustainability among farmers in Delta State, Nigeria. Using a cross-sectional survey design, data were collected from 384 farmers across three agricultural zones over a six-month period (March-August 2024). Results revealed that 68.2% of farmers had moderate awareness of AI technologies, while only 23.7% had high awareness levels. The study found significant positive relationships between AI adoption and farm productivity (r=0.742, p<0.001), with AI-adopting farmers recording 34.6% higher yields compared to non-adopters. Multiple regression analysis showed that education level (β=0.358, p<0.001), access to mobile technology (β=0.412, p<0.001), and extension contact (β=0.287, p<0.01) significantly predicted AI adoption. Economic analysis indicated that farmers utilizing AI-powered advisory services experienced a 28.4% increase in annual income, with return on investment of 2.43:1. However, challenges including poor internet connectivity (81.5%), high smartphone costs (73.8%), and inadequate training (69.3%) were identified as major barriers. The study concludes that while AI presents substantial opportunities for transforming agricultural extension in Delta State, strategic interventions in infrastructure development, capacity building, and policy support are imperative for sustainable adoption.

10. ASSESSMENT OF CLOTHING STORAGE PRACTICES OF WOMEN LIVING IN RURAL AREAS OF DELTA STATE EMPOWERMENT IN NIGERIA

Abstract: The study was designed to assess clothing storage practices of women living in rural areas in Delta state. Three research questions were raised for the study. The study adopted survey research design. The target population of the study comprised of 911,121 women living in 252 rural communities in Delta state. Multi-stage sampling technique was used to select 360 respondents of the study. Data collected from respondents were obtained using structured questionnaire which was analyzed using frequencies and mean. The results of the analysis revealed that storage facilities and materials like boxes, wardrobes and closets, shelves, drawer spaces, hangers, clips, ropes/strings, storage spaces, bags, insect repellant, among others were utilized by the women. The women did not adopt proper storage of different clothing articles such as: under cloths, night garment stored in drawers, tops and shirts hanged in hangers, shirts folded in drawer, sweaters stored in closets; and daily used articles stored in top drawers. The only guideline adopted by rural women was wrapping clothes in something breathable. The study concluded that clothing storage activities are not practiced effectively by women living in rural areas in Delta State. The study recommended that Home Economics extension workers in Delta state should organize workshops and seminars in order to educate rural women on skills involved in clothing storage practices. Women living in rural areas in Delta state should adopt correct and best methods, techniques and strategies for effective clothing storage practices.

11. INTEGRATING AI TECHNOLOGIES FOR SUSTAINABLE RESTORATION OF TROPICAL SOILS AND FOOD PRODUCTION

Abstract: Soil is increasingly solicited for multiple crops to achieve food self-sufficiency; as such, it’s directly impacted by the growing human population's demand for increased agricultural production and crop yields. Thus, unsustainable practices such as intensive cropping, excessive fertilizer use, organic matter (OM) mismanagement, and depletion of organic carbon (OC) from agricultural soil have negatively impacted soil health, leading to soil degradation. This paper explores the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in rehabilitating degraded soils, AI integrated agricultural practices that support sustainable soil and food production, and barriers to adopting AI based soil restoration strategies, particularly among smallholder farmers. Furthermore, the study emphasized the critical need for smallholder farmers to be trained to improve their digital literacy and capacity to use AI-enabled advisory platforms. The need for policymakers to collaborate with telecommunication companies in enhancing mobile network coverage in rural areas, and for the government to address the challenge of limited access to AI tools by introducing grants and financing schemes to enable farmers to purchase essential AI-enabled devices at a lower cost. Addressing the challenges faced by smallholder farmers in adopting AI-technologies fosters the restoration of degraded soils, improving food production within the tropical regions.

It highlights the unique challenges they face, including limited access to AI training, infrastructural constraints, competition from global AI-generated content, cultural considerations, and economic pressures. AI is not only emerging as a technological phenomenon but also as a catalyst for innovation in the artistic and educational fields. Although we are at the starting point, AI is rapidly evolving and leading us towards a revolution, opening new doors of creative domains that will transform Graphic Artist in all round aesthetic, procedural performance. This paper discusses strategies for resolving these challenges, such as capacity building, infrastructural development, promoting local content, cultural preservation, and collaboration. If these challenges are understood the graphics artists in developing economies can adapt to the AI revolution and thrive in a rapidly changing industry environment.

This paper examines the developing affiliation between fine arts and applied arts and artificial intelligence technologies, exploring how algorithmic structure are redesigning visual languages, artistic practices and techniques of cultural expression. By incorporating perceptions from art principle, strategic studies and mass media technology, the study explores how artists and designers engage artificial intelligence tools such as generative imitations, unbiased systems, and machine learning to generate novel systems of visual significance and engagement. Abstract: This paper focusses on the relevance of fine and applied art education through artificial intelligence (AI) for sustainable development in Nigeria. It discussed the subject areas in fine and applied art education that provides self -employment to individual and also gives the individual that went through it an opportunity to give others from different field employment that helps to reduced poverty and crime in the country. The paper also added that AI powers virtual assistant that can provide 24/7 support, answer frequently asked questions, helps with other placement and tracking as well, assists with product recommendations and offers personalized support. The paper identified challenges of funding of AI equipments tools in schools, the absence of constant and adequate power supply. The paper concluded that revamping fine applied art education through AI for sustainable development can create future where fine and applied art education is more accessible, equitable and impactful easily with AI. It was suggested amongst that proper accountability budgeting for fine and applied art education with AI inclusion for professionals, maintenance of infrastructures and crumbing corruption is highly needed and there should be training and retraining among lecturers and students for effective preparation on the use of artificial intelligence applications and tools in schools.

Abstract: This study “Survey on Home Economics Teachers Perception on Application of Artificial Intelligence Technology in Food and Nutrition Teaching Learning to Enhance Nutrition Knowledge and Practices in Homes and Society” was guided by three research purposes and research questions. A survey research design was employed, population of study was made up of all Home Economics teachers in all the public secondary school in Oshimili South and structured questionnaire focused on the study subject matter was used for data collection. Data collected from the field survey was analysed using mean (x) statistic. Result revealed; one (1) that Home Economics teachers do not have positive perception for the application. AI in the teaching of food and nutrition X 2.1, (2) teaching learning situations are not conducive and (3) irregular electricity supply is a factor militating AI technology application in schools. Based on this finding, it was recommended that the Federal Ministry of Education should provide in-service training opportunities to enable teachers gain insight and be fully prepared for the application of AI in their duty post among others.

19. THE ROLE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN REDUCING FOOD WASTE AND IMPROVING NUTRITION FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN ASABA, DELTA STATE

Abstract: This study examined the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in reducing food waste and improving nutrition for sustainable development in Asaba, Delta State. The study was guided by two research questions and two null hypotheses. A descriptive survey design was adopted, and the population consisted of 9,842 students, food vendors, and staff across three tertiary institutions in Asaba. A sample size of 384 respondents was determined using Taro Yamane’s formula, and stratified random sampling was employed to ensure proportional representation across the three groups and institutions. A structured questionnaire with closed-ended items and a four-point Likert scale was used to collect data, and the instrument was validated by three experts and found reliable with a Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient of 0.86. Data were collected physically with the assistance of trained research assistants, and 362 copies of the questionnaire were successfully retrieved and analyzed. Descriptive statistics, including mean, standard deviation, and grand mean, were used to answer the research questions, while inferential statistics, specifically independent samples t-test and one-way ANOVA, were used to test the hypotheses at 0.05 significance level. Findings revealed that respondents agreed that AI could significantly reduce food waste through improved food storage, distribution, and supply chain efficiency, and enhance household nutrition by improving access to affordable, diverse, and balanced diets. The study also found no significant differences in perceptions based on gender or across the three institutions. Based on these findings, it was recommended that institutions integrate AI into food management systems, provide inclusive training for all stakeholders, promote AI-driven dietary planning, and adopt standardized AI frameworks across institutions.

20. ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND SMART FARMING IN NIGERIA: ENHANCING AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTIVITY, SUSTAINABILITY, AND INCLUSIVE ECONOMIC GROWTH

Abstract: Nigeria’s agricultural sector faces persistent challenges including climate variability, low mechanization, limited access to modern technologies, and infrastructural deficits that constrain productivity and threaten food security. Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a transformative tool capable of addressing these structural limitations through data-driven decision-making, predictive analytics, and automation. This study examines the role of AI within the Smart Farming framework, emphasizing its capacity to enhance precision resource management, pest and disease detection, crop yield forecasting, automated irrigation, robotics, and value-chain optimization.Drawing on existing empirical studies and global policy reports, the paper synthesizes evidence on how AI-powered technologies—such as machine learning models, remote sensing systems, drones, and agronomic decision-support platforms—can improve farm efficiency, increase yields, and reduce input waste. The study highlights how AI contributes to climate resilience through improved weather forecasting and adaptive farm management strategies. It further explores automation’s potential to mitigate labor shortages and strengthen operational efficiency across agricultural systems.Despite these opportunities, AI adoption in Nigeria remains limited due to high implementation costs, weak rural digital infrastructure, limited digital literacy, data governance concerns, and unequal access among smallholder farmers. The research critically examines these distributional and institutional barriers, including risks of algorithmic bias, platform concentration, labor displacement, and environmental sustainability concerns. It argues that without inclusive policies and institutional support, AI benefits may disproportionately favor large-scale farms and agribusinesses, thereby widening existing inequalities.The study concludes that AI can significantly enhance agricultural productivity and national competitiveness when embedded within supportive policy frameworks that prioritize rural connectivity, open data standards, extension service integration, financial accessibility, and environmental safeguards. By aligning technological innovation with inclusive development strategies, Nigeria can harness AI to strengthen food security, stimulate economic growth, and promote sustainable agricultural transformation.

22. REVAMPING VISUAL ART EDUCATION THROUGH ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT: AN EMPIRICAL PERSPECTIVE

Abstract: This empirical study explores how the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in visual art education can support sustainable development goals (SDGs) by enhancing creativity, engagement, and equitable access to quality learning. Drawing on recent empirical research, systematic reviews, and classroom experiments, we investigate the effects of AI-assisted pedagogy on learner outcomes, teaching practices, and institutional readiness. Data from 78 Junior Secondary school students, 40 Senior Secondary school learners, and multiple literature syntheses demonstrate significant increases in engagement, attitudes toward art learning, and cognitive support through AI generated learning materials. Challenges such as ethical concerns, teacher preparedness, and equity issues are discussed. The study finds that thoughtfully integrated AI tools can transform visual arts education while supporting SDG quality education, innovation, and inclusion.

As climate concerns intensify, environmental artists face pressure to reduce carbon footprints, adopt circular material strategies, and integrate their work into broader sustainability frameworks. Artificial intelligence (AI) provides new tools for eco-conscious sculpture—helping artists analyze material impacts, optimise structural performance, model long-term ecological effects, and embed sculptures into smart-city systems. This paper examines how AI enables sustainable decision-making from concept to post installation, drawing examples from architecture, product design, and public art, and showing relevance to African cities, particularly Nigeria.

24. EVALUATING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE YOUTH AGRICULTURAL ENTREPRENEUR PROGRAMME AMONG POULTRY PRODUCTION BENEFICIARIES IN DELTA STATE, NIGERIA

Abstract: This study examined the effectiveness of the Youth Agricultural Entrepreneur Programme in promoting youth employment through poultry production in Delta State, Nigeria. Using a descriptive survey design, data were collected from 120 randomly selected beneficiaries across the three agricultural zones. questionnaire was employed to gather data on beneficiaries’ socio-economic characteristics, access to inputs and technologies, perceived livelihood outcomes, and constraints encountered in poultry production. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics including frequencies, percentages, means, and rankings. Results showed that most participants were young, educated, and male, with access to government-provided inputs such as day-old chicks, feed, and vaccines. Although technologies like battery cages and basic veterinary practices were moderately adopted, challenges such as high feed costs, limited access to veterinary services, and disease outbreaks persisted. The programme was found to have positively enhanced beneficiaries’ livelihood, increased household income, food security, and youth engagement in poultry production. The study concludes that YAGEP has the potential to address youth unemployment in the region, but its sustainability depends on improved input delivery, access to training, affordable services, and stronger market linkages. Recommendations were made to enhance the programme's efficiency and scalability.
